Christmas Services for St James' Church 2023

About St James' Church

As soon as you walk towards the church you will experience the quiet and contemplative churchyard, surrounded by a circle of Yew Trees and a lovingly cared for environment.  The colours and plant life which envelop you in the churchyard reflect the vibrant and spiritual outlook of Christleton St James where community is at the centre of everything which happens here.

Our church also extends to those who may be ill, immobile, or housebound, and as you will see our values of a spiritual and vibrant community permeate through our presence both physically, and virtually. We are working closely with our technology partners to enhance our services for the  community online.  We will of course keep you updated in the future both on the website here and in the Notices at the end of church services.

We would also like to suggest you read the introduction and welcome from our Rector Dr Stefan Collier and wish you a safe and peaceful passage for your day. We look forward to sharing our church and God's love with you.

We are open ALL day & everyday to those of ALL & no denominations from 9.30am until 5pm all year round.

No matter who you are,  everyone is most welcome to come in for quiet contemplation or for that special moment of private prayer or even just to have a wonder around our beautiful church.

Do please have a look at the wide selection of leaflets at the back of the church for you to look at or take away. They can be found on the table on the right  as you walk into the church. The leaflets range from the Cheshire Foodbank to Christian Aid, monthly news-sheets detailing forthcoming services & events at St James' Church.

Bells of St James' Christleton

St James' Bells

We had a great response from people in the local community who were interested in learning to ring the bells for our "Ring for the King" campaign in the lead up to the King's Coronation celebrations.  Please do visit our bells page for more information plus keep an eye out on our community blog magazine for any details about bell ringer's Open mornings. We always welcome visiting bell ringers and look forward to seeing you then!

Learn how the network works

If you do wish to ask for support this is the area of the website we would suggest you explore. It was originally set up for the purpose of helping those who may have been self-isolating during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, in the light of the recent mental health crisis we felt it important to continue with this facility for the time being. We can only listen and give general support or chat. Please ignore the Covid labelling when you click the "St James Pastoral Care Network" panel. Thank you.

Prayer requests

Our virtual church facilities were set up during the worst of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Currently there are a number of parisioners who have mobility challenges which  prevent them from being able to attend church. So in order to service this need St James  have decided to continue to operate prayer requests via this website.
